Cancellation
As mentioned on the previous page, while the former Webmaster was sending in suggestions for improving the Shoalhaven Bushwalkers club, the SBW committee decided to cancel his membership. The decision was made at the committee meeting on the afternoon of April 15th - proposed by Andy Winfield, seconded by Clare Lord, and carried unanimously.
That evening Brett was sent a membership cancellation email with an attached "Decision and Reasons" document. Printed copies of the email and the attached document were hand-delivered to Brett's home under cover of darkness early the next morning.

The Shoalhaven Bushwalkers committee's decision was summed up in paragraph 7 of the "Decision and Reasons" document. It stated -
"The committee considered your conduct between 20th January and 9th April 2025 in sending 50 unsolicited emails to the committee. The committee judges this conduct to be prejudicial to the interests of the Club in that it amounts to a vexatious deployment of email communication to the committee either intended to cause disruption to - or with reckless disregard as to its likely impact on - the committee’s effective governance of the Club."

Please note:
- SBW has no rules limiting correspondence with the club
- Members are encouraged to provide feedback to the committee
- The Code of Conduct says the committee must be be open to feedback from members
- The committee does not say how the emails were vexatious - number, length, content?
- At no time did the committee ask the Webmaster to stop sending in suggestions
Wouldn't a competent committee have asked the former Webmaster to stop sending in suggestions before resorting to cancelling his membership?
The former Webmaster wrote a lengthy explanation to the committee after they cancelled his membership, but this was unsurprisingly not accepted and the committee unanimously confirmed its decision.
Not wanting to force club members at a general meeting to become the executioners for the committee's travesty of justice, Brett declined his allowed appeal.
Instead, in the interest of openness and honesty, he provided the content for this website ...
The real reason for the cancellation of the former Webmaster's membership is speculated upon on the TRUTH? page ...
