Hi SBW committee,
In the "Emergencies on Walks" safety document, under "If Someone is Injured / Exhausted" and "If outside help is required", one of the dot points says "If no phone coverage – 1 or 2 people stay with patient. Most experienced walkers – minimum of 2 – go for help".
This obviously requires at least 4 people to be on the walk - the patient, the person staying with them, and the minimum of two people to go for help. With the new minimum number of people allowed on SBW bushwalks now reduced to the unsafe (IMHO) level of 3, this procedure needs to be changed, with a single person being allowed to go for help alone.
Cheers,
Brett
