Possible agenda item at the next committee meeting

Hi SBW committee,

Both Bushwalking Australia and Bushwalking NSW have PDF files that can be downloaded from their respective websites detailing their Risk Management Guidelines. The two documents are almost identical, but different e.g. the BA guidelines have 21 references to "safety" while the BNSW guidelines only have 12; and the BA guidelines have 3 references to "PLB" while the BNSW guidelines only have 1.

Which guidelines should we follow - those of Bushwalking Australia, or those of Bushwalking NSW? I am asking because I think the Shoalhaven Bushwalkers should examine our risk management and safety procedures on a regular basis, but to do this we probably need to know which set of guidelines to follow.

Julienne, did you and David come to any conclusions about which set of guidelines we should use while you were formulating our proposed new safety procedures?
