Proposed New Safety Procedures emails

These are the emails about the proposed new safety procedures that the Webmaster sent to the committee in May 2023. Two of them are highly critical of the new safety procedures, but a dozen people on the committee had no complaints whatsoever about the content or tone of these emails. Julienne McKay - who was on the committee at the time and who received these emails - has never complained about them.

Only David Campbell complained about them, and not until months later when he was desperately looking for additional ammunition to attack the Webmaster and his "Term of the President" article that appeared on the SBW website.

David was not on the committee so the emails were not sent to him; he admits that he didn't read them all; he admits that he relied on his partner describing the content of some of the emails to him; and his complaint was made almost four months after the innocuous emails (links below) were sent out.

Unfortunately for David, Brett Davis keeps copies of all his email correspondence, so he has proof that David's claims are untrue, and therefore potentially defamatory.

The emails make for very dry reading, but they should be checked out so people can see not only how complicated the proposed new safety procedures were, but also the complete lack of personal comments about Julienne McKay or David Campbell anywhere in the emails.

Note that only the first two emails deal directly with the proposed new safety procedures from the safety sub-committee. The rest deal with peripheral issues, including a critique of the Webmaster's own work as it appeared on the Shoalhaven Bushwalkers website.

In total there were 7 emails in 8 days with only two that referenced David and Julienne's safety procedures - emails which David described as an ongoing hammering that went on for weeks!

Trigger times were a major sticking point in the news safety procedures

This page contains links to seven emails sent by the Shoalhaven Bushwalkers webmaster which examined proposed new safety procedures in 2023. In a complaint by David Lord to the SBW President, these emails were described as containing disrespectful and personal attacks on Julienne McKay who helped formulate the procedures. A reading of the emails shows that the claims in the complaint were completely false.
